Privacy Policy

Your privacy is of paramount importance to us, and we make every effort to honor your trust by safeguarding your personal information. We aim to ensure that you clearly understand what data we collect, why it is needed, how it is used, and how you can manage it. This Privacy Policy describes our approaches to protecting your privacy without resorting to overly complex legal and technical language.

This “Privacy Policy” (hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”) is a legal agreement between the dating service “Mint” (hereinafter referred to as the “Administration”) and the individual who uses this service (hereinafter referred to as the “User”).

The dating service “Mint” (hereinafter referred to as the “System”) provides access to its functionality through the web version and the “Mint” mobile application. The “System” is operated by the limited liability company “Dating Lab,” officially registered in the Russian Federation (Taxpayer Identification Number (INN) 6700006778, Primary State Registration Number (OGRN) 1236700014737) and located at: 85 Nikolaeva St., premises 3, office 9, Smolensk, Russia.

The Policy takes effect at the moment the User consents to its provisions — i.e., upon registration in the mobile application or on the web resource.

The Administration reserves the right to make changes to this Policy without prior notice. The new version of the Policy becomes effective immediately after its publication unless a different effective date is specified within the text.

The current version of the Policy is always available at: https://api.mintapp.org/v1/policy.html?application=Mintapp.org&language=rus&project=ios_mint

1. Information We Collect

In the course of using our service, you knowingly provide certain data. These include:

1.1. When registering an account, you at least provide your phone number and email address. These contact details are hidden from view by other users. You also provide the basic data required for the System to operate: your gender, date of birth, and name or nickname.

1.2. In your profile, you can additionally specify your goals for dating, marital status, whether you have children, physical parameters (height, weight, eye color), hobbies, occupation, financial situation, information about housing and a car, educational level, personality traits, priorities, as well as your attitude toward smoking and alcohol. These data, with the exception of phone number and email, are displayed in your profile and allow other users to find you in searches. By providing us with this information, you consent to its processing for the above purposes in accordance with this Policy.

1.3. You can post photos, illustrations, text entries, and videos in the Feed, and also upload personal photos to albums. In order to add such materials, the operating system may request your permission to access the camera or media files if required by its settings.

Access to the camera is only needed at your discretion (for example, when creating a selfie). The application does not use the camera in the background or take covert pictures. If you deny permission, some functions (e.g., taking a snapshot directly in the app) will be unavailable, but all other System features will remain operational.

Access to the microphone is required when you want to make voice calls or send audio messages within the System. This permission is requested only when you initiate a voice function. The application does not perform hidden recording and does not enable the microphone without your consent.

1.4. When purchasing paid options or subscribing directly through our web resource or in the app (outside of third-party platforms), you provide us with your purchase information and provide payment operators with your payment details (bank card number and other financial data).

1.5. If you contact customer support, we store all information that you provide during the interaction.

1.6. When you take psychological tests offered in the System, we save your answers and test results.

1.7. We also analyze user-to-user correspondence and the content you create to ensure stable service operation and to maintain community safety.

1.8. Text comments under photos, status updates, and other posts in the Feed are also stored and used in our data processing workflows.

1.9. We record the likes, reactions, and comments you leave under other users’ posts, as well as keep track of those who have visited your profile (the “visitors” list). This information is available only to you and is not disclosed to third parties.

2. Information Automatically Created or Collected While Using the System

2.1. In the course of interacting with our service, we receive certain technical information: which features you use, in what manner they are used, and through which devices you gain access.

2.2. Usage data: Your activity on the Service generates information about login times, features used, actions taken, content viewed, and your interactions with other users (exchanging messages, likes, comments, matches, etc.).

2.3. Device information: We collect data about the characteristics and settings of the devices you use to access the System: IP address, identifiers, device type, software settings and parameters, error reports, as well as advertising identifiers (which can be reset in the device settings), and cookie identifiers or other similar technologies.

2.4. Information from cookies and similar technologies: We use cookies and allow third parties to use them (web beacons, pixels, SDK) to recognize you and/or a specific device.

2.5. For statistical analysis, diagnostics, and application improvement, we use Firebase (Google) and Yandex AppMetrica analytics services. They may process anonymized device identifiers and information about your activities in the System (number of views, session duration, errors, etc.) without obtaining your personal contact details (email, phone number, etc.). You can familiarize yourself with their privacy policies here:
https://policies.google.com/privacy
https://yandex.ru/legal/confidential/
Through these services, we can optimize functionality and promptly fix problems that arise, without disclosing users’ confidential data.

3. Purposes of Using Information

The information we collect serves several important purposes:

3.1. Maintaining Your Account and Providing Services.

3.2. Facilitating Interaction Between Users.

3.3. Promotion and Advertising.

3.4. Improving the Service and Developing New Features.

In this way, we make the service more convenient, safer, and more relevant for each user.

3.5. Preventing Fraud and Other Illegal Activities.

3.6. Legal Compliance

Processing of the collected data is necessary to fulfill legal obligations and maintain order in the System, which includes protecting individual users and the entire community, as well as cooperating with government and law enforcement agencies.

Your information is processed, among other things, for managing your account and profile, displaying them to other users, matching potential candidates, and granting access to both free and paid features.

3.6.1. Legitimate Grounds for Processing: We use your data in accordance with our legitimate interests, which allows us to analyze user activity to improve the service, provide you with relevant offerings, ensure community safety, protect our rights, and cooperate with law enforcement, if necessary.

3.6.2. Compliance with Legal Requirements: We store traffic history and transaction records in accordance with accounting and tax regulations and may provide this data to authorized bodies upon lawful requests. We also document the instances in which you give consent.

3.6.3. Consent: In cases where you share “special” or “sensitive” information, you consent to its use under the terms of this Policy. You have the right to withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us through the contact details provided at the end of this document.

3.6.4. The System is intended to facilitate important connections, so information primarily circulates among users themselves. Nonetheless, we may share certain data with external organizations and partners who help us provide services and, in specific circumstances, with law enforcement agencies. Below are details on how and with whom we share your data.

3.6.5. With Other Users: When you use the service, some of your information may become visible to other participants (e.g., content published in your profile). We recommend exercising caution and not disclosing information that you do not wish to make public. You can customize the privacy settings of your profile and its individual sections. If a complaint is filed against your profile for an alleged violation of the User Agreement, we may inform the complainant of the measures taken.

3.6.6. With Service Providers and Partners: We collaborate with external organizations (hosting, data storage, analytics, customer support, marketing, advertising, payment systems, security). We also share data with partners that help promote the service. For example, we may share data in encrypted and hashed form if it pertains to advertising activities.

3.6.7. When selecting contractors and establishing partnerships, we impose strict requirements, including those related to confidentiality.

3.6.8. Sharing Function: Users can share links to others’ profiles outside our service using special tools. Likewise, other people can share a link to your profile.

3.6.9. In the Event of Corporate Changes: If the company undergoes a merger, asset sale, acquisition, split, restructuring, reorganization, liquidation, bankruptcy, or other changes in ownership/management, your data may be transferred to the relevant third party.

3.6.10. Upon Lawful Requests or by Law Enforcement Agencies: We may disclose your information if we receive official court orders, subpoenas, or legitimate requests from investigative authorities; to assist in investigating or preventing crimes; and to protect the rights, health, and safety of individuals.

3.6.11. Protecting Legitimate Interests: We may need to share information in legal proceedings to mitigate legal risks; to protect our rights and the rights of users, business partners, and other interested parties; to enforce agreements; or to investigate fraud or other illegal activities.

Use and Disclosure of Non-Personal Data: We process and share data that does not directly identify you (technical device data, aggregated demographics, behavioral factors, and geolocation in anonymized form). They can be used independently or combined with other data (in encrypted form) to ensure security.

Sharing Data With Third Parties for Advertising: We may share such aggregated information with advertisers so that targeted advertising can be displayed on our service and on external resources. This enables advertisers to present ads aligned with user interests.

Analytics and Reporting: We analyze the data collected to measure advertising campaigns’ effectiveness and improve their quality, which benefits both advertisers and us.

Combining Information: To enhance service quality, we may combine non-personal data with similar data from other sources, using methods that prevent manual decryption (e.g., hashing). This provides a more holistic understanding of user interests and preferences so that we can offer more relevant services and advertising.

4. Your Control Options and Rights to Manage Information

We place great importance on allowing you to manage your personal information independently and offer various mechanisms for doing so:

4.1. Access and Editing in the Interface: Through the appropriate tools and account settings, you can view, modify, or delete certain data. If you encounter difficulties, customer support is at your disposal.

4.2. Device Permissions: Typically, a mobile operating system allows you to configure access to the camera, microphone, media library, push notifications, and advertising identifiers. You are free to change these settings at any time. Note that disabling certain permissions may limit some System features.

When you grant access to the camera, microphone, or gallery, the application only uses these capabilities at the moments when you yourself activate the corresponding function (e.g., to take a photo or record audio). You can withdraw these permissions in iOS privacy settings (Settings → Privacy), and the application’s functionality will be adjusted accordingly.

4.2.1. Push Notifications
When you first launch the application, you consent to receiving push notifications containing new messages, other users’ activities (likes, comments), and system information. You can limit certain types of notifications or disable them completely at any time in the app settings or in the “Notifications” section of your device settings.

4.3. Deleting the Application: If you decide you no longer want our application to collect any data, you can remove it from your device in the standard way provided by your platform.

We respect your choices and strive to provide clear instructions on how to manage personal information, as well as clarify the implications of any changes to the settings.

To protect your information from unauthorized access, we may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling a request to access or modify data. We reserve the right to deny a request if we cannot confirm your identity, if the request does not comply with the law, or if it infringes on the rights and privacy of others. For example, if you request information about another user, we will require that user’s written permission and identity confirmation. We may also decline requests to change or restrict the processing of personal data if doing so would prevent us from providing services to you (for instance, without a date of birth, we cannot verify that you are of legal age).

5. Data Retention Period

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to meet legitimate business objectives and comply with applicable laws. If you no longer wish to use our services, you can delete your account, and your profile will become inaccessible to other participants. Please note that if your account remains inactive for six months, it will also be automatically closed. Deleting an account leads to the erasure of your personal data, with certain exceptions (see below):

We reserve the right to retain data for up to 180 days after account deletion or up to one year following a profile block, in order to investigate potential unlawful or malicious activities. This is based on our legitimate interests and those of other parties.

Once this “safety period” ends, we remove your information; however, we maintain a limited scope of data in the following cases:

We provide a convenient account deletion feature directly in the application. If you select “Delete Account” in the settings or under “Profile,” we will initiate the data deletion procedure, which will be completed within a reasonable time. If you cannot do this on your own, please contact customer support. In this case, we may request proof of identity to ensure that the request is coming from the account owner.

6. Underage Users Are Excluded

Our System is intended solely for individuals who are at least 18 years old. Anyone under the age of 18 is prohibited from using the service. If you believe that an underage individual has gained access, please use the “Report” function to alert the Administration.

7. Cookies: What They Are and Which Ones We Use

We use cookies — small text fragments that your browser saves to your computer or phone. They simplify subsequent visits to the site, help the system recognize you, and ensure the web version functions correctly. Below are some ways we use them.

Authorization and Personalized Settings.
When you visit our resource, session cookies are created and are deleted after the browser is closed. We also use persistent cookies that recognize you during subsequent visits and facilitate authorization. If you choose to disable cookies in your browser settings, some features may become unavailable.

User Behavior Analytics.
We use the Yandex.Metrica service to gather visitation statistics, which helps us improve the service. You can read Yandex’s privacy policy here: https://yandex.ru/legal/confidential/.

Targeted Advertising.
Third-party resources, such as Google, may use cookies to display ads based on your previous visits. Advertising preference cookies allow Google and its partners to serve ads tailored to your interests. You can opt out of personalized ads by visiting: https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated. Additional information about Google’s privacy policy is available here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy.

8. Data Security and Storage

To log in to the System, you use a unique login (phone number) and password, which must be kept confidential and not disclosed to others. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of these credentials. If you discover that someone has gained access to your password, there is a risk of unauthorized use of your personal data. In such cases, you should immediately notify our Customer Support (via the “Help” section) and change your password in your account security settings. The System is not responsible for the consequences of negligent handling of your personal data and any potential breach of the User Agreement.

The Administration implements appropriate security measures to protect your information (including personal data) against loss, misuse, and unauthorized alteration, as far as is within our power. Our team of experts regularly enhances protective mechanisms.

However, since no system can guarantee absolute security in transmitting or storing data on the Internet, we cannot promise complete protection from hacking, leaks, or other incidents. We strongly encourage you to take all possible measures to safeguard your password and personal information. The Administration is not liable for risks arising during data transmission — this responsibility lies with the user. Once we receive your information, we use protective technologies to prevent unauthorized access. By sending us your data, you agree to its collection, storage, processing, use, transfer, and deletion.

In accordance with Apple’s App Tracking Transparency policy, if our application intends to use your advertising identifier (IDFA) for cross-application tracking, iOS will request your separate consent. If you decline, you can still use the core features, but ads (if any) will be less personalized. You can change your decision in iOS settings at any time (Settings → Privacy → Tracking).

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We are constantly improving our services and strive to keep you informed about how we process data; therefore, this Policy may be updated from time to time.

If you have any questions about how we collect or use your personal data, please contact us via the “Help” form or reach our data protection specialist by email at support@mintapp.org
